One wonderful place near my home is Cook Park.  A well used multi-use area that is along the Tualatin River with waking paths and area of open grass.  There are athletic fields, picnic areas and playgrounds for children.  A wide variety of wild life can be seen among the trees.  Once a year there is the Tigard Hot Air Balloon festival over a weekend. A wonderful event.
